Candidate Statement – Jocelyn Prvanov

Candidate – Waikanae Ward

“It’s been a privilege to serve as your Waikanae Ward Councillor for the past six years.

Jocelyn Prvanov, Waikanae Ward Candidate

“I’ve lived in Waikanae for 25 years, bringing a background in science, regulation, and rural perspective to Council. As Chair of the Climate and Environment Committee, I’ve championed practical, future-focused initiatives that balance growth, environmental protection, and financial responsibility.

“I’m a strong, consistent advocate for our community – supporting those facing flooding, regulatory or infrastructure challenges, and driving upgrades in our community spaces. I’ve stood up for fair representation, pragmatic road naming, and voted against unpopular policies like urban intensification and the Moy Place land status change.

“My work on the Kāpiti Whaitua Committee and development of the Climate and Environment Strategies reflects my commitment to long-term sustainability.

“Guided by values of respect, integrity, honesty, transparency, and inclusiveness, I make balanced, informed decisions – with an eye on both community wellbeing and fiscal prudence.”

All candidates are offered the opportunity to submit a profile and photo for the position they are standing for.
