“Nei rā te mihi atu ki a koutou katoa ki runga i te rarangi Māori i te takiwā o Kāpiti Kaunihera.
“As an actively contributing to iwi and kaupapa Māori, wāhine Māori of Kurahaupō and Tainui waka, Ōtaki resident and ratepayer, deeply connected through whakapapa and whenua to Kāpiti, I am excited to be standing for Kāpiti Coast Māori Ward.
“The resilience, creativity and generosity of Māori as community members inspires me. The challenges faced to ensure Māori and Te Reo Māori remain visible and thriving in Kāpiti drive me.
“Serving with integrity and determination, bringing a te ao Māori lense to decision making, collaborating with the Mayor, councillors, community board members, iwi partners, mātāwaka, marae and in community to maintain a thriving, culturally rich, diverse Kāpiti, I will advocate for Tiriti principled, sustainable and affordable intergenerational, mokopuna focused community and district wide outcomes for Māori.”
