Firefighters are working to control a house fire in Palmerston North, which resulted in multiple calls being made to emergency services on this afternoon.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) central shift manager says the blaze at a property on Main St was first reported about 3.55pm, followed quickly by several other calls regarding the incident.
Two fire appliances from the Palmerston North station were sent to the scene, and crews reported the house was “well involved” in fire by the time they arrived.
There was no information to suggest anyone was in the house at the time the house caught fire, FENZ said.
At 4.30pm, fire crews were still at the scene, working to extinguish the blaze.
