“Ko Elyse tōku ingoa. I am a permanent resident of Paekākāriki.
“My family has a long, connected history with the village with three generations currently living here, including my young whānau.
“I am committed to strengthening a sense of community and belonging for all residents, past, present and future.
“I volunteer with a range of groups in the village, in particular the surf club, Playcentre, Paekākāriki Pride, and fire brigade.
“I recently worked alongside Paekākāriki Incorporated Communities Inc. to design and run a door-to-door community survey to better understand the needs of our neighbourhoods.
“I support Ngāti Haumia ki Paekākāriki in their priorities as mana whenua.
“Key values: community, manaakitanga, curiosity, understanding.
“Key skills: communication, advocacy, networking.”
