Consultation on the proposed new speed limit of 110km/h for Transmission Gully Motorway and Raumati Straights closes next week.

NZTA are looking for your feedback to be in by Thursday 10 July. To submit your feedback, complete the online form: www.nzta.govt.nz/tgspeed

NZTA says Transmission Gully has safety features that greatly reduce the risk of death or serious injury in a crash, like two lanes in each direction, and flexible median barrier between opposing lanes.

“Safety improvements will be needed on the Raumati Straights section, to help support any potential increase in the speed limit, while Transmission Gully requires some surfacing works. We’re currently considering safety improvements including some side barrier works, lighting upgrades, and other infrastructure improvements.

“These works would be dependent on scoping, design, and funding. By consulting on this section now, we can finalise a decision on appropriate speed limits quicker, once these works are undertaken.”

The NZTA website has more information on the proposed new speed limit and a form for you to share your feedback with www.nzta.govt.nz/tgspeed
