In celebration of Matariki 2025 and this year’s theme “Matariki ki te Wai” (Matariki of the Water), Copperfield Collective is hosting a live painting session by renowned local artist Liz Gibson, known by many as Art by eclaire https://www.instagram.com/art.by.eclaire/
Liz will be at Copperfield Collective, located at 17 Seaview Road, Paraparaumu Beach, on Friday, 13 June from 10am to 2pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artist, watch her creative process in action, and learn more about the inspiration behind her distinctive work.
In a special nod to Matariki, Liz will be drawing inspiration from the element of water – a core theme of this year’s celebration – as she brings a new piece to life on the day. Attendees will also be able to place custom artwork orders directly with Liz, making it a perfect opportunity for those looking to capture something truly personal through art.
Copperfield Collective founder Kamni Raju-Russell says, “We’re incredibly proud to showcase the immense talent we have in our creative community. Artists like Liz bring not just beauty, but storytelling and soul into our space. Matariki is a time of reflection, connection, and creativity – and we couldn’t think of a better way to honour it than by sharing this live art experience with the public.”
Copperfield Collective continues to support and stock a wide range of New Zealand-made products and artisan works, offering a vibrant and unique retail experience in the heart of the Kāpiti Coast.
Ms Raju-Russell says all are welcome to pop in, connect, and celebrate Matariki through the lens of local art.
